Event Description

Regular maintenance of gas and steam turbines is essential to ensuring reliable power generation, both today and in the future. For decades, anti-seize lubricant pastes have provided controlled friction during assembly to support exact tensioning and a safe disassembly, even after long term-exposure to high temperatures.

In recent years, formation of carcinogenic/toxic hexavalent chromium residues have been observed on heat-exposed lubricated parts, such as flanges. Turbine OEMs have addressed this issue in several safety bulletins.

As hexavalent chromium formation is caused by multiple factors, new generations of health-friendly anti-seize pastes can help suppress the formation of critical residues, protecting the health of operators while still enabling smooth maintenance.

This webinar will share information about factors affecting hexavalent chromium formation and will introduce a hazard-label-free solution that effectively suppresses Cr(VI) formation, as demonstrated by test results.
